JOHN JAMES BEZER was a minor but interesting activist during the later years of the Chartist movement. His name comes down to us, not so much by way of references made to his lectures and the Chartist meetings that he attended in company with the movement's more notable personalities, but through the record of his trial for sedition and, more particularly, for his incomplete autobiography.
